Joanne Ottaviano began her career in the arts as a ballet dancer with the American Ballet Theatre and the visiting Bolshoi Ballet Company. Graduating from School of Visual Arts, soon after her paintings were in exhibitions nationally and internationally, including a one-woman show in Tokyo. After years working as a makeup artist for film and television (CNN, Saturday Night Live, HBO) she has returned to painting with the addition of clay, glass beads, cut paper, foam, pepper corns, glitter and Shrinky Dinks as some of her materials. Her art is done WITHOUT the use of a computer.
